A new protocol for root-scoped authorization quiescence is proposed for long-running AI agents, addressing issues with cancellation, process exit, and credential revocation. The protocol ensures that authorization is properly linearized and composed, and provides a certificate for each manifested sink. The authors prove the soundness and stability of the protocol under various assumptions, and demonstrate its correctness with a test suite.
