RetryBench: Separating Retry Permission from Recovery Outcomes in GPT Tool Use

This paper introduces RetryBench, a tool for separating retry permission from recovery outcomes in GPT tool use. The authors found that changing keys can elicit unsupported retries in some models, and that removing the weak-contract label can increase retries. The results suggest that reporting permission and recovery together is important for declared interface variants.
